Professional Statement
Ruth Madden graduated with her Masters and Doctorate in Nursing from the Columbia University School of Nursing in New York. Prior to that, she studied theology and philosophy from St. Vincent College in Latrobe, PA, and studied science and nursing at the University of Pittsburgh. She has worked as a group fitness instructor and personal trainer since 2003, specializing in nutritional counseling and weight management.
Prior to joining American Executive Health System in 2014, Madden worked at Prince William Hospital and at Manassas Internal Medicine. She has also worked in specialty adult medicine at Neighborhood & Family Health Center in the Bronx and Brooklyn. She is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner accredited with the American Academy of Nursing Credentials. Dr. Madden has been published with Advance for Nursing on electronic medical records and with Clinical Scholars Review for her work in Obesity Self-Management Education on patients in the Bronx.
Ruth Madden speaks conversational and medical Spanish. She is also a certified instructor in the Billings Ovulation method. In her spare time she enjoys music, volunteering and runs half-marathons.
